TENSILE STRUCTURES
I decided to make my final project about Tensile Structures because this is a very modern, attractive, economic and dinamic type of construction.
A tensile structure is a construction that is carrying only tension and no compression or bending. They are supported by some form of compression or bending elements, like masts, beams or compression rings. Tensile structures are most often used as roof.
OBJECTIVES
By the end of you investigation about TS you will have:
- Read about the principles and functionality of TS and watched some videos.
- Learned about the benefits of TS.
- Created a graphic organizer about TS.
- Written your conclusions about TS.
- Designed a tensile structure for "Cancha cubierta de futbolito de la USB" different from the current one. (This is your evaluation)

3. Write your conclusions from the readings that you made about TS and post it to your wiki. Record your conclusions using Viewpoint and post it to your wiki.
4. For you evaluation you will have to desing a Tensile structure for "Cancha cubierta de futbolito de la USB". For this you will have to download a 3D program desing in this link: SketchUp Home. After download the program, create your own account My SketchUp Account. In the home page you will find information about how to use this program. Support, Training.
